- Welcome to InfoRecall
- »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
- Having Information is of little use if you can't find what you need in a
- hurry. InfoRecall addresses this problem. Not only does it let you store all
- the information you are likely to need, quickly and easily in any form you
- like, it will also find any part of it for you very rapidly.
-
- Rather than exploring all the features of the program, actually using it is
- the best way to find out what InfoRecall does and how it best suits your
- needs. Below are all the instructions you need to get started. You will also
- get the user manual detailing all the options available and how to best use
- them when you purchase the full license. But for the moment...
-
- Entering Information
- »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
- InfoRecall works on the principal of files (your files cabinet) and records
- (the folder in your filing cabinet). By default, this trial version starts
- with the TRIAL file open (as shown in the Information Bar at the top of the
- opening screen).
-
- The column at the left is for the names of your records (folders). The wider
- column on the right is for the text (contents) of each record.
-
- Use the TRIAL file to experiment with initially. If you want to look at the
- sample files, click on the down arrow next to the TRIAL filename in the
- Information Bar and double click on the file you want to see. When you want
- to create a new file press CTRL P and follow the instructions on the screen.
-
- Now, to enter information into the TRIAL file...
-
- - Click on the third toolbar button
- - Type the record name you want to use (e.g. test)
- - Press Enter
- - Type in the text you want associated with that record (e.g. This is a
- test.)
- - Click on the fourth toolbar button to save the record.
- - You should have a record called "test" in the left column
- - You should have "this is a test" in the Right column.
- - Repeat the above steps to create as many records as you like.
-
- NOTE: Each record can be up to 32,000 characters long (that's about 25
- pages), you can have as many records as you like in a file and as many files
- as will fit onto your hard disk.
-
-
- Accessing Information
- »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
- Now that you have some information in your file (or maybe you want to
- explore the sample files) it would be nice to be able to find what you want
- in a hurry.
-
- Clicking on the Search menu heading will show you all the options available.
- For the moment however...
-
- - Click on the 13th toolbar or press F4 button
- - Type in a word you would like to find
- - Press Enter. The Search Result screen will show all the matches found.
- - Double click on one of the finds to open that record
- - Click on the 14th button or press F5 to re-access the finds as many times
- as you like.
-
- That completes the Quick Start tutorial. As you will see once you've
- finished experimenting, InfoRecall is an exceptionally easy way to keep
- track of any information. The information need not be structured in any way.
- You can even import and/or scan in text from books, letters, reports, faxes,
- newspaper articles letters, price lists or anything else you like and get
- access to it, instantly, at any time.
-
- However, to get the most out of the software, you will need to explore the
- Help facilities and read the User Guide.
-
- This Trial version is the full package, you are licensed to use it for 45
- days after installation.
-
- Your Data Files will not be damaged!
-
- To be able to use the data you have accumulated at the end of that period
- you will need to purchase InfoRecall. Call the dealer who gave you this
- trial version or contact the distributor for your nearest dealer or contact
- Phantech Software directly. And feel free to copy this disk and give it to
- any of your friends who may also have a use for such a powerful freeform
- database.
